Ingredients
4 ripe tomatoes, diced
1 small red onion, finely chopped
1 jalapeño, minced (remove seeds for less heat)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Salt to taste
Optional: 1 tsp sugar for balance
Instructions
1. Combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, and minced jalapeño in a large bowl.
2. Add the minced garlic, chopped cilantro, and lime juice.
3. Stir everything together until well mixed.
4. Taste and season with salt (and optional sugar if needed).
5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
6. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.
Notes
This salsa is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Adjust the heat level by adding more or less jalapeño.
